Fennoa
Finnish cloud accounting and invoicing
Overview
Connect a client's Fennoa company so Taxxa can read its books directly from Fennoa: the ledger, sales and purchase invoices, customers and budgets. You can then ask questions about the client in Taxxa without exporting reports. You connect with a general API user that the company's Fennoa admin creates, and the API user's role decides what Taxxa can reach. This is an office connection: people who can manage office access, a permission a workspace admin gives, connect it. Everyone else can use it only with access to its client, given per client or to all clients on the Office access page.
What Taxxa can access
- Accounting periods, accounts, the ledger and account balances, vouchers and VAT codes.
- Sales invoices and purchase invoices, with their lines and payments.
- Customers, suppliers, dimensions and budgets.
- Taxxa can also prepare changes, such as a sales invoice or the approval of a purchase invoice, for members with Read & write access to the client. Fennoa allows only what the API user's role permits, so a role without payment rights keeps payments out of reach. Keep the API key like a password.
Before you connect
- A Fennoa company. Each API user gives access to one company only.
- A Fennoa admin (pääkäyttäjä) of the company, who creates the API user.
- A role for the API user, for example Kirjanpitäjä ilman maksuoikeutta (Accountant without payment rights). Fennoa checks the role on every request, so Taxxa can only do what the role allows. In Taxxa, an office access manager can narrow this further for each member, never widen it.
- The office access permission in Taxxa, given by a workspace admin. Only office access managers can connect Fennoa.
How to connect
- In Fennoa, open the client's company and go to Fennoa → Käyttäjät (Fennoa → Users) in the top menu.
- Click Luo uusi API-käyttäjä (Create new API user) and choose Yleinen API-käyttäjä (General API user). Enter a name, for example Taxxa.
- Choose the role Taxxa may use, for example Kirjanpitäjä ilman maksuoikeutta (Accountant without payment rights), and save.
- Copy the API user ID and the API key. Fennoa shows them only once.
- In Taxxa, open Connectors, choose the client company and select Fennoa. Select Connect.
- Enter the API user ID and the API key, and select Connect. Taxxa checks them with Fennoa.
- In Taxxa, open the Office access page from Connectors and give members access per client or to all clients: Read for the read actions and synced data, or Read & write for every action. People who can manage office access have full access. A write action still follows each member's own approval setting: Taxxa asks before each change unless that member chose to allow changes without asking.
- To give access to many clients at once, select Edit next to a member on the Office access page, filter the clients, for example by connector, select all matching clients, choose Read or Read & write, and save.
- Each API user gives access to one company. To connect another client, create a general API user in that client's Fennoa company and connect it in Taxxa as above.
Where to find your details
- API user ID
- The API user ID that Fennoa shows once, when the company's admin creates the general API user under Fennoa → Käyttäjät. Copy it exactly, without spaces.
- API key
- The API key that Fennoa shows once, together with the API user ID. Keep it like a password: with the ID, it opens what the API user's role allows in that company. If you lose it, delete the API user and create a new one.
Troubleshooting
- Taxxa says the API user ID or the API key is not valid.
- Check that you copied the full ID and key, without spaces, and that the API user still exists under Fennoa → Käyttäjät. If you lost the key, create a new API user and reconnect Fennoa in Taxxa.
- Some requests fail while others work.
- Fennoa refuses a request that the API user's role does not allow, with the same error as a wrong key. Ask the company's Fennoa admin to give the API user a role that allows the request, then try again.
- Taxxa shows data from the wrong company.
- Each API user belongs to the company where it was created. Create an API user in the right company and reconnect Fennoa in Taxxa for that client.
- You lost the API key.
- Fennoa shows the key only once and cannot show it again. Delete the API user under Fennoa → Käyttäjät, create a new general API user, and reconnect Fennoa in Taxxa with the new ID and key.
Disconnect
In Fennoa, delete the API user under Fennoa → Käyttäjät. Its key then stops working. You can also disconnect Fennoa in Taxxa under Connectors.
