Vero
Finnish Tax Administration: tax account, VAT, letters and information requests
Overview
Connect Vero so Taxxa can read tax data directly from the Finnish Tax Administration: the tax account balance and transactions, VAT periods and returns, decisions and letters, and information requests. Taxxa creates the key and retrieves the certificate, so nobody handles certificate files. This is an office connection: people who can manage office access, a permission a workspace admin gives, connect it. Everyone else can use it only with access to its clients, given per client or to all clients on the Office access page.
What Taxxa can access
- Tax account: balance, transactions and payment references.
- VAT: filing periods and submitted VAT returns.
- Decisions and letters Vero has sent, and information requests that wait for a reply.
- For accounting offices: the clients that gave your organisation a Suomi.fi mandate.
- Taxxa only reads. It does not file returns or send anything to Vero.
Before you connect
- The office access permission in Taxxa, given by a workspace admin. Only office access managers can connect Vero.
- A Vero API interface agreement for your organisation, and a person with signing rights who requests a certificate in Vero's certificate e-service.
- The transfer ID and one-time password that Vero sends to the technical contact person. They are valid for 14 days and work only once.
- Your organisation's Business ID (Y-tunnus).
How to connect
- A person with signing rights logs in to Vero's certificate e-service (Varmennepalvelu) with bank ID, submits an API application for Vero API if the organisation has none, and requests a new production certificate.
- Name the Taxxa admin who will set Vero up as the technical contact person.
- The technical contact receives a secure email with the transfer ID and one-time password, and a PIN code by text message to open it.
- In Taxxa, open Connectors, select Vero and then Connect.
- Enter the Business ID, transfer ID and one-time password, and select Connect. Taxxa creates the key, retrieves the certificate from Vero and saves it. This takes up to a minute.
- In Taxxa, open the Office access page from Connectors and give members access per client or to all clients: Read for the read actions and synced data, or Read & write for every action. People who can manage office access have full access. A write action still follows each member's own approval setting: Taxxa asks before each change unless that member chose to allow changes without asking.
- To give access to many clients at once, select Edit next to a member on the Office access page, filter the clients, for example by connector, select all matching clients, choose Read or Read & write, and save.
Where to find your details
- Business ID
- Your organisation's Finnish Business ID (Y-tunnus) with the dash, for example 1234567-8. It must be the organisation that requested the certificate.
- Transfer ID
- The transfer ID in the secure email that Vero sent to the technical contact person after the certificate request.
- One-time password
- The one-time password in the same secure email. It is valid for 14 days and works only once.
Troubleshooting
- Taxxa says that Vero did not accept the business ID, transfer ID or one-time password.
- Check that the Business ID is the organisation that requested the certificate and includes the dash. A transfer ID works only once and expires after 14 days. If it was used or expired, request a new certificate in Vero's certificate e-service and use the new transfer ID.
- Vero answers that a client has not authorised your organisation.
- The client gives your organisation a Suomi.fi mandate, for example Managing of tax affairs, at suomi.fi/valtuudet.
- A member cannot use Vero in Taxxa.
- Someone who can manage office access must give the member access to that client, or to all clients, on the Office access page.
- The certificate expires soon.
- Certificates are valid for two years, and Vero emails the technical contact 60 days before they expire. Request a new certificate in Vero's certificate e-service and set Vero up again in Taxxa with the new transfer ID. The workspace keeps the same connection.
Disconnect
Disconnect Vero in Taxxa under Connectors. Taxxa then deletes the certificate and its key. If the organisation no longer needs the certificate, revoke it through Vero's certificate service.
