Businesses that hold or are applying for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) authorisations should switch on email notifications in the eAEO-palveluTulli, so that messages Tulli sends into the service also reach them by email
Tulli. Updated instructions give a step-by-step activation path, and the maintenance guidance for existing authorisations now points holders to the same instructions for adding, removing or editing email addresses.
Activation runs through the user's own settings. On Oma etusivu, press the user-profile icon and choose Omat asetukset, then scroll down to the EAEO section and press the plus icon. Activate the email alert, add the email address, press Päivitä at the bottom of the page, and verify delivery with the envelope icon. Additional addresses are added with the plus sign and removed with the minus sign.
The eAEO-palvelu covers three authorisation types: AEOC for yksinkertaistetut menettelyt, AEOS for vaarattomuus ja turvallisuus, and the combined AEOF authorisation. The service also takes muutosilmoitus notices when company details change. An applicant needs an EORI-numero, and login requires identification through the EU's portal, selecting EAEO. Acting on behalf of a company requires the Tullitoiminnan lupien hakeminen mandate. Applying for an AEO-valtuus has several stages, and the applicant must contact Tulli before filing the application in the eAEO-palvelu.
Once granted, the authorisation must be maintained. Holders are required to notify Tulli of any matter arising after the grant that could affect the authorisation's validity or content, and AEO-toimijat are expected to promote security thinking in the supply chain and monitor their own compliance. Changes to company AEO data are reported in the service on the Omat AEO-hakemukset tab by choosing Pyydä muuttamista, entering the changed data and pressing Lähetä. Visible data includes the company's basic details, the authorisation type, EORI-numero, legal status, founding date, addresses, responsible persons, supply-chain roles, the Member States where the company has customs activity, simplifications and authorisations already granted, consents, sector, establishments, attached documents and the signatory. Some fields, including basic company details, the EORI-numero and the signatory, cannot be edited in the service.
Other changes are notified by message on the Omat AEO-valtuutukset tab by choosing Anna tietoja and describing the change, covering matters such as a new board chair or board members, the contact person for security and safety, new premises, corporate restructurings, outsourcing, new information systems or other significant changes in customs operations. Advance notices and related questions can also be sent to Tulli by email at aeo@tulli.fi.
An authorisation can also be ended. A company may request its AEO-valtuus to be terminated entirely or suspended for a fixed period if it temporarily cannot meet the requirements, and it may apply for a new authorisation immediately in those cases. Tulli may suspend an authorisation when the company has not met AEO requirements, and the company has the right to remedy the situation before the authorisation is fully terminated. If Tulli terminates an authorisation because the company breached customs rules, the company may apply for a new one after three years at the earliest. Authorisations are ended in the eAEO-palvelu.
The AEO scheme rests on Regulation (EU) No 952/2013 laying down the Union Customs Code, Articles 38 on application, authorisation types and monitoring and 39 on the granting criteria.
Activate eAEO email notifications under Omat asetukset and keep the registered addresses current so Tulli messages reach you by email.
