The effects differ by group. Just over 1.2 million pensioners draw inkomstpension and/or tilläggspension with no basic protection such as garantipension or bostadstillägg; these earnings-related components rise by 2.2 per centPensionsmyndigheten. Almost 800,000 pensioners draw inkomstpension plus a partial garantipension and receive an increase of between 0.7 and 2.2 per cent

About 7.2 million savers who have not yet retired see their inkomstpension accounts credited 3.8 per cent higher, reflecting earnings growth in society. The payout increase of 2.2 per cent is deliberately lower than the 3.8 per cent credited to savers' accountsPensionsmyndigheten because the initial pension calculation includes an advance of 1.6 per cent of assumed future earnings growth
Pensionsmyndigheten. That advance, built into the delningstal so that the first pension sits closer to the final salary, is then deducted from earnings growth at each annual recalculation. This annual mechanism is följsamhetsindexering: the pension is recalculated at each year-end by the change in the inkomstindex divided by 1.016.
Each year 16 per cent of pensionable income and certain taxable benefits replacing earned income, such as sickness and activity compensation and unemployment insurance, is set aside for inkomstpension, and periods with small children, compulsory service or study can also earn pension rights. The accrued rights are booked to the saver's inkomstpension account and, at payout, divided by a delningstal reflecting the statistically expected remaining lifetime of the saver's age group, equal for women and men.
Premiepension does not follow these percentages; its performance is governed by the funds on the premium pension fund marketplace and is calculated at the end of December.
Legal basis: Socialförsäkringsbalken (2010:110) 62 kap. 42-43 §§ on följsamhetsindexering of inkomstpension, 58 kap. 26-27 §§ on the inkomstbasbelopp and 2 kap. 6-7 §§ on the prisbasbelopp.
Apply the 2027 figures — the 2.2 per cent income pension increase, the 59,600 kronor prisbasbelopp and the 86,600 kronor inkomstbasbelopp — in pension forecasts and pay-linked ceiling calculations from January 2027, and point pensioners to the January statement for individual amounts.
