Industry: Across industries
All new customs movements between Great Britain and Northern Ireland go through the new Trader Support Service.GOV Anyone already signed up to the outgoing service has been migrated
GOV and does not register again; the registration page puts that migration on or before 20 October 2026
GOV. Unsigned traders register for the new service with an Economic Operators Registration and Identification number — an XI EORI, an EU-country EORI, a parent organisation's EORI or one starting GB — plus personal and business details
GOV, with optional simplified-declarations, declarants'-records, duty-deferment, customs-warehouse and excise-warehouse numbers.
Declarations already in progress on the old service are not stranded: they can still be managed through to completion on the outgoing portal.GOV The outgoing sign-in page stays available until 30 November 2026 and then closes
GOV, from which point all users are expected to use the new Trader Support Service
GOV. That replaces the earlier 20 October 2026 cut-off
GOV, giving traders with open declarations a further window on the old portal. Support runs on 0800 870 8173 between 7am and 10pm, seven days a week
GOV, extended from the previous 8am to 5:30pm window. Registration needs personal information of name, email, contact number and job title, business name and email with optional contact number and VAT registration number, and the EORI number. Optional extras at registration are a simplified declarations procedure number for releasing imports on a basic declaration with a supplementary declaration later, an entry-in-declarant's-records number for instant release via commercial records, duty-deferment account and deferred-payment authorisation details for delayed duty payment, a customs warehouse authorisation for storing non-UK or duty-suspended goods, and an excise warehouse authorisation for opening, operating or declaring duty-suspended goods at an excise warehouse.
The new service is free and covers customs and safety and security declarations for Great Britain to Northern Ireland movementsGOV, with webinars and email bulletins, a digital assistant and contact-centre agents. Through it traders draft and submit declarations, check balances and pay duties owed to HMRC, maintain company details and customs authorisations, and manage permissions, users and administrators. Additional users of an already-registered business join by emailed invitation from the account administrator.
Legal basis is the Trader Support Service migration for Northern Ireland goods movements: the outgoing service closes on 30 November 2026 and declarations move to the new Trader Support Service registration and declaration guidance.
Submit all new GB–Northern Ireland movements on the new TSS and run any in-progress old-service declarations to completion before 30 November 2026.
