Three kinds of identifier qualify.Tulli A standardised manufacturer identifier is typically an EAN or GTIN code containing only numbers; for books it is often an ISBN containing letters, numbers and hyphens. A non-standardised manufacturer identifier is typically a model or product number the manufacturer has given the goods. A seller identifier is one the seller has given the goods, and it may contain letters, numbers, hyphens or special characters.
Customers should save the identifiers when they order, for example from the order confirmation or the shop website, and ask the seller for the identifier when needed. Tulli does not hold product identifiers itself.
No identifiers are needed in the following situations. They are not needed where the parcel was ordered from a seller holding an IOSS identifier and the seller clears the parcel on the customer's behalf.Tulli They are not needed where the purchase is worth more than 150 euro.
Tulli They are also not needed where the customer receives a gift from another private individual, or where the goods were bought directly from another private individual.

In the Henkilöasiakkaan tuontitullauspalvelu service the identifiers are entered following the filling instructions, shown by pressing the question marks beside the fields. A customer clearing an online purchase in any other way, such as on a form or in the Tulliselvityspalvelu clearance service, asks customer service for advice on stating the identifiers.
The customer-service page places the duty under Unionin tullikoodeksi (European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) No 952/2013), Articles 74, 117, 118, 158 and 201, and Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/2447, Article 132.
When you order goods online for at most €150, save the product identifier from the order confirmation so you can enter it if you clear the parcel yourself.
