Gmail
Google email for personal and Google Workspace accounts
Overview
Connect your Gmail so the Taxxa assistant can find emails and attachments, draft replies and send messages for you while you work. The connection is personal: other members of your workspace, including admins, cannot use it.
What Taxxa can access
- Search and read your emails, threads and attachments.
- Create, edit and send drafts, send new emails and reply to messages as you.
- Organise your mailbox: add or remove labels, mark as read or unread, move to trash or restore, and delete messages.
- Google describes this access as "Read, compose, send, and permanently delete all your email from Gmail".
- By default, anything that sends, changes or deletes asks for your approval first ("Approve this action?"). You can change this per connector in Action permissions.
Before you connect
- A Gmail account or a Google Workspace account with Gmail.
- If you use Google Workspace, your Google admin must allow third-party apps to access Gmail. Some organizations only allow apps the admin has marked as trusted.
How to connect
- In Taxxa, open Connectors and search for Gmail.
- Click Connect.
- Choose the Google account you want to connect, or sign in.
- Review the access Google lists. If Google shows checkboxes, keep the Gmail access ticked, then continue.
- Back in Taxxa you see "Gmail connected."
Troubleshooting
- Google shows "Access blocked" or "Error 400: admin_policy_enforced".
- Your Google Workspace admin blocks this app. Ask them to allow Taxxa in the Google Admin console: Security > Access and data control > API controls > Manage App Access, find Taxxa by name, and set it to "Trusted" (Gmail is often restricted to trusted apps). If your admin lets users request apps, you may also see an option to request access.
- Taxxa connected, but the assistant cannot read your email.
- You probably unticked the Gmail access on Google's screen. Disconnect Gmail in Taxxa, connect again and leave the Gmail access ticked.
- The wrong Google account was connected.
- Disconnect Gmail in Taxxa, then connect again and pick the right account on Google's account chooser.
Disconnect
Disconnect Gmail in Taxxa under Connectors. To also remove Taxxa's access on Google's side, go to myaccount.google.com/connections, select Taxxa, choose "See details", then "Remove access" and confirm.
