Microsoft 365
OneDrive, SharePoint, Office files, Outlook and Teams
Overview
Connect your Microsoft 365 work or school account so the Taxxa assistant can find and work with your files, email, calendar and Teams chats while you work. You choose which services Taxxa can access, and you can add or remove services later. The connection is personal: other members of your workspace, including admins, cannot use it.
What Taxxa can access
- Files & Office: search and open OneDrive and SharePoint files you can access, read and edit Excel workbooks (ranges, worksheets, tables, charts), export Word and PowerPoint files to PDF, and upload, create, copy, move or delete files and folders. You can also import files into a chat with "Import from OneDrive".
- Email (Outlook): read and search your messages, folders and attachments; create and send drafts, reply or reply to all, and send new email as you; move, copy, update and delete messages.
- Calendar: read your calendars and events, and create, update, cancel or delete events.
- Teams: list your teams, channels and chats, read channel and chat messages, start chats, and send or reply to messages as you.
- Taxxa only sees what your own Microsoft account can see. By default, anything that sends, changes or deletes asks for your approval first ("Approve this action?"). You can change this per connector in Action permissions.
Before you connect
- A Microsoft 365 work or school account.
- A Microsoft licence for each service you pick (for example a mailbox for Email, OneDrive or SharePoint for Files, Teams for Teams). Available features depend on your Microsoft licences and permissions.
- Depending on your organization's Microsoft settings, an IT admin may need to approve Taxxa before you can connect. Teams access always needs admin approval.
How to connect
- In Taxxa, open Connectors and search for Microsoft 365 (searching for OneDrive, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook or Teams also finds it).
- Click Connect.
- In "Choose Microsoft 365 services", tick what Taxxa may access: "Files & Office", "Email (Outlook)", "Calendar" and/or "Teams". Then click "Continue with Microsoft".
- Sign in with your Microsoft work or school account.
- Review the permissions Microsoft lists and click "Accept". If you see "Need admin approval" or "Approval required" instead, see Troubleshooting.
- Back in Taxxa you see "Microsoft 365 connected." To add or remove services later, open Microsoft 365 in Connectors and choose "Manage services".
Troubleshooting
- Microsoft shows "Need admin approval" ("Taxxa needs permission to access resources in your organization that only an admin can grant").
- Your organization only lets admins approve apps like Taxxa. Forward this to your IT admin: the app name shown on the screen, and the Microsoft 365 services you chose (Files & Office, Email, Calendar, Teams). An admin can approve it in two ways: sign in through Taxxa once and tick "Consent on behalf of your organization" before clicking "Accept", or, in the Microsoft Entra admin center, go to Enterprise apps > All applications, open the app, then Permissions > "Grant admin consent". After approval, click Connect again.
- Microsoft shows "Approval required" with a box for a justification.
- Your organization has an approval process. Write why you need Taxxa (for example: "AI accounting assistant; needs my files and email") and select "Request approval". You get an email when an admin approves or denies it. Once approved, click Connect again in Taxxa.
- You only get the admin approval screen when you tick Teams (or Files, Email or Calendar).
- Teams always needs admin approval because Taxxa reads channel messages and team members. Many organizations also require admin approval for apps that read files, email or calendars. Either ask your IT admin to approve Taxxa (see above), or connect without Teams for now and add it later with "Manage services".
- You connected Outlook in Taxxa before and it no longer appears.
- Outlook is now part of Microsoft 365. Connect Microsoft 365 and tick "Email (Outlook)" and/or "Calendar".
Disconnect
Disconnect Microsoft 365 in Taxxa under Connectors. Removing a service in Taxxa limits access right away, but Microsoft may keep your earlier consent: to remove it, open My Apps (myapplications.microsoft.com), choose the Taxxa app > "Manage your application" and revoke the permissions you granted. Permissions an admin granted for your organization can only be removed by your admin.
