Slack
Team messaging, channels and direct messages
Overview
Connect your Slack workspace so the Taxxa assistant can read conversations, look up colleagues and post messages for you. Slack is shared by your Taxxa workspace: it is connected once, and members of your Taxxa workspace use the same connection. Messages Taxxa sends appear as the Taxxa app, not as you.
What Taxxa can access
- Read channel lists, messages and threads in public and private channels the Taxxa app has been added to, and in its direct messages.
- Look up people (names and email addresses), user groups and basic workspace information.
- Send, schedule, edit and delete messages, open direct messages, add reactions and pins, and create reminders.
- Create, rename and archive channels, set topics and purposes, and invite or remove members.
- View and upload files.
- By default, anything that sends, changes or deletes asks for your approval first ("Approve this action?"). You can change this per connector in Action permissions.
Before you connect
- A Slack account in the workspace you want to connect.
- Permission to add apps to that Slack workspace. If your workspace requires app approval, a Workspace Owner or app manager must approve Taxxa.
How to connect
- In Taxxa, open Connectors and search for Slack.
- Click Connect.
- Sign in to Slack if asked. Check the workspace name in the top-right corner of Slack's page and switch it if needed.
- Review the permissions Slack lists and click "Allow".
- Back in Taxxa you see "Slack connected."
- Add the Taxxa app to the channels it should read or post in, especially private channels: open the channel's details, go to Integrations and choose "Add an app".
Troubleshooting
- Slack asks you to send a request instead of showing "Allow".
- Your Slack workspace requires app approval. Add a short reason and click "Submit". A Workspace Owner or app manager reviews it in Slack's app management settings. Slack notifies you when it is reviewed; then click Connect again in Taxxa.
- The assistant cannot see messages in a channel or cannot post there.
- Taxxa only reads and posts in channels the Taxxa app has been added to. Open the channel's details, go to Integrations and choose "Add an app", then pick Taxxa.
- The wrong Slack workspace was connected.
- Disconnect Slack in Taxxa, connect again, and pick the right workspace in the top-right corner of Slack's page before clicking "Allow".
Disconnect
Disconnect Slack in Taxxa under Connectors. To remove Taxxa from Slack, a Workspace Owner (or anyone allowed to manage apps) opens Tools & settings > Manage apps > Installed apps, selects Taxxa, opens App details > Configuration and removes the app.
