Finnish financial institutions can submit CRS/DAC2 annual returns using the old CRS schema until 30 October 2026, Vero says.Vero From the beginning of 2027, CRS/DAC2 annual returns must use the new schema, including annual returns relating to earlier years.
Vero Reporting teams therefore need to account for the schema change when preparing both current-year submissions and filings concerning previous years.
The transition also removes the replacement annual return, known as a korvaava vuosi-ilmoitus, for both CRS and FATCA reporting.Vero Vero has published the CRS/DAC2 technical implementation instructions applicable from 1 January 2027 and directs reporters to those instructions for the detailed schema changes. The old-schema cutoff concerns the submission format for CRS/DAC2 returns; Vero's annual-return instructions separately say that returns for the previous calendar year are submitted through Ilmoitin.fi by the end of January.
Vero’s annual FATCA, CRS and DAC2 information session will take place on 4 November 2026. It starts at 10:00 and ends at 13:00. The session is intended for staff responsible for FATCA, CRS and DAC2 due-diligence and reporting obligations. The session will take place in Finnish as a Teams meeting. Participants can influence its content by answering the advance questionnaire by 18 October 2026.Vero
Registration is available through Vero's event announcement. Once registered, participants will receive more detailed joining instructions and the meeting link by email before the event. A Teams installation is not required to join from a computer, but Teams must be installed on a mobile device. The session will not be recorded; presentation materials will be published afterwards as PDFs on Vero's FATCA, CRS and DAC2 information-session page.
For reporting teams, the immediate preparation is to review the new technical instructions against their planned submissions and use the questionnaire to raise topics for the briefing before its October deadline. The operational guidance is Vero's CRS/DAC2 technical implementation instructions, together with its FATCA, CRS and DAC2 annual-return instructions.
