Earnings-related pension insurers have new lump-sum coefficients for disability pensions and the future old-age pension payable alongside them. The table published by TELP applies to lump sums (kertasuoritus) whose settlement date is 1 January 2027 or later.Telp Benefit and actuarial staff settling small pensions as one-off payments must use these factors instead of the previous set.
A kertasuoritus means the pension is paid in full in a single instalment covering the period up to the estimated end of life or the end of the benefit. Old-age pension, family pension and full disability pension can be paid this way, and a pension is paid as a lump sum when its amount is small. The lump sum for a disability pension and the future old-age pension paid with it is computed by multiplying the annual pension by the coefficient matching the pensioner's ageFinlex, under the mechanism in 2 § of the Sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön asetus eläkkeen kertasuorituskertoimista. A rehabilitation benefit (kuntoutustuki) uses a separate duration-based table instead.
The new table gives a coefficient for every age from 17 to 65, with monthly granularity: each year of age from 17 to 64 has twelve values, one per month (0–11 kk), while age 65 carries a single value. The coefficients start at 21.30 for a 17-year-old at 0 months and rise through the twenties, reaching their highest levels around ages 36 to 38 — peaking at 28.03 for ages 37 and 38 — before declining steadily to 19.12 at age 65. A 40-year-old's lump sum, for example, equals 27.96 times the annual pension at 0 months, falling to 27.91 by 11 months; a 60-year-old's equals 21.80 times the annual pension at 0 months, falling to 21.31 by 11 months.
In practice, administrators take the pensioner's age in years and completed months on the settlement date, look up the corresponding coefficient, and multiply the annual pension amount by it. Because the table is fixed by settlement date, cases settled on or after 1 January 2027 use the new factors even where the pension itself was granted earlierTelp, while settlements dated before that day stay on the previous coefficients

Pension providers settling lump sums dated on or after 1 January 2027 apply the new coefficient tableTelp; settlements dated before that day stay on the previous coefficients.
Legal basis: Sosiaali- ja terveysministeriön asetus eläkkeen kertasuorituskertoimista 2 §, as applied through the TELP coefficient table for lump sums settled on or after 1 January 2027.
For any disability-pension lump sum settling on or after 1 January 2027, compute it as the annual pension multiplied by the coefficient for the pensioner's age in years and completed months from the new TELP table.
