EDS clients grant, extend and cancel powers of attorney for signing documents through two structured documentsVID: "Pilnvaras reģistrācija" for issuing new authorisations to representatives
VID, and "Pilnvaras termiņa maiņa / Anulēšana" for changing the end date of authorisations already issued
VID. Both are opened from the "Sagatavot dokumentu" tile on the EDS home section with the "No veidlapas" button, also available in the "Dokumenti" section, and found under "Pēc dokumentu grupas" → "Pilnvaras" or through the search field.
In the registration document, the mandatory fields are the recipient's registration number or personas kods together with the name, the authorisation type and the authorisation start dateVID. Leaving the end-date field empty creates an open-ended authorisation. Both authorisation types in the "Veids" field, "Pilnvara" and "Pilnvara PVN atmaksai", authorise the person to sign all documents submitted in EDS
VID. The "Pilnvara PVN atmaksai" variant is needed in the specific situation of EDS clients that also submit "PVN atmaksas pieteikums" documents claiming VAT refunds from other European Union Member States
VID: where the "Iesniedzēja pilnvarotā persona" section is additionally completed, for example to have the refund paid directly to the authorised person's account rather than to the EDS client's own account as the applicant, the client must have issued such an authorisation with the additional special mandate included
VID.
The "Drīkst pārpilnvarot" flag is an additional control and is marked only where the EDS client genuinely wants the authorised representative, as an EDS user, to be able during the validity of the authorisation to submit new authorisation documents in the client's name without the client's knowledgeVID. Leaving it unmarked keeps issuance of further authorisations with the client.
In the term-change and cancellation document, the authorisation to change is selected from the list of authorisations registered in the EDS client's name. Ending an authorisation means entering its end date, which cannot predate the current dayVID: authorisations cannot be discontinued retroactively
VID. Extending an authorisation with a previously set end date that has not yet arrived means selecting it from the list and entering the new end date.
Companies onboarding new signatories, rotating finance staff or cleaning up stale mandates submit the registration document for each new representative with the mandatory identifiers, type and start date, review the sub-delegation flag deliberately, and close departed representatives' mandates with a current-day end date rather than attempting a backdated terminationVID.
Legal basis: VID informatīvais materiāls "Kā caur EDS pilnvarot EDS klienta pārstāvjus parakstīt dokumentus?" (28.10.2026).
For each new EDS representative submit the registration document with the mandatory identifiers, type and start date, decide the sub-delegation flag deliberately, and close departed mandates with a current-day end date.
