Digital media journalist pay floor corrected to NOK 546 000

Payroll & Labour

Norsk Journalistlag has corrected the published Journalistavtalen for digitale medier (MBL), NHO agreement 479. The annual minimum for the “After 4 years” seniority step in § 9 is NOK 546 000, replacing NOK 546 100 in the previous version. The remaining scale rates are unchanged.NJNJ

The minimum-wage scale applies from 1 April 2026. The agreement covers employees performing editorial work in businesses bound by it and runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2028. These are minimum rates: § 11 requires personal supplements reflecting factors such as skills, education, experience and responsibilities, with an annual pay review no later than 31 December. The required age increments still apply even where personal pay exceeds the base rate plus increments; anticipated age increments are not to be granted.NJ

Payroll teams should check the corrected four-year floor while retaining personal supplements and more favourable agreed pay. A correction to the published minimum does not itself instruct employers to reduce an employee’s agreed salary.NJ

Check the digital media agreement’s corrected four-year minimum of NOK 546 000 in payroll, retaining personal supplements and any more favourable agreed pay.
