VID makes updated transit forms available for fallback procedures

VID's customs forms collection now offers a transit accompanying document and a transit list of goods dated 21 August 2026VID, together with a newly added TAD information continuation sheet. They appear in the section for forms used under fallback arrangements.

The accompanying document replaces the item previously labelled as a transit security accompanying document.VID The goods-list item likewise replaces the previous transit security item list.VID The change concerns the forms available from VID and their labels; the collection does not state a new statutory submission deadline or a transition date for abandoning older forms.

The accompanying-document template identifies itself in Latvian and English. It contains fields for the consignor, consignee, holder of the transit procedure, representative and carrier, with contact-person fields where indicated. It also provides for the place of loading and unloading, the countries on the route and a prescribed itinerary.

Transport information is recorded in separate parts of the template, including the departure transport means, the active transport means crossing the border, containers and transport equipment. The template has fields labelled previous document, supporting document, transport document and additional reference. The form also contains fields for the guarantee and seals.

There are dedicated sections for customs control and for incidents during transport. The incident section is expressly labelled for completion only under the business-continuity procedure. Its fields include an incident code and information identifying replacement transport means, alongside the relevant customs office. The template separately provides a section for certification by competent authorities.

The separate TAD information sheet is headed as a printout continuation sheet and carries an MRN field and a forms reference. It is listed as an additional download alongside the accompanying document and goods list. The page continues to list other fallback forms, including export and re-export documents, as separate items.
