Teacher-qualified state staff get a higher allowance from April 2027

State employees covered by the agreement for staff with a schoolteacher qualification will receive a higher annual allowance from 1 April 2027. The change applies to employees within this particular agreement.Retsinformation It covers people who have completed the Danish folkeskole teacher education and are employed in posts where that qualification is relevant to the duties.Retsinformation Ordinary teaching posts are excluded unless the parties agree otherwise, and employees covered by another agreement or collective agreement are also excluded. The institutional scope includes the state and the self-governing institutions that the parties have brought within the agreement.

The allowance is part of a salary framework in which pay is agreed between Finansministeriet and Lærernes Centralorganisation. Employment is on a monthly salary. For part-time appointments, pay is reduced proportionately. The agreement states that pension contributions are paid to Lærernes Pension and amount to 17.6% of the agreed salary; one third of the contribution is treated as the employee’s own contribution and must be identified on the payslip.

Working-time treatment depends on the employee’s arrangements. For employees subject to a maximum working time, the normal average is 37 hours a week calculated monthly. Ordered and verifiable overtime is compensated through payment or time off with a 50% addition. Employees whose control over scheduling or working circumstances puts them outside that arrangement follow the specified state rules for staff without a maximum working time instead.
