The negotiators for Kystrederiene and Det norske maskinistforbund recorded a general pay increase of 3.5% from 1 September 2026Dnmf in their NOR and SF agreement protocol.

The document records the bargaining meetings held on 1–2 September. Its terms should therefore be read together with that outstanding response deadline when assessing implementation. The protocol also sets the shipowner's annual pension contribution at 5% of the pension basis between 0 G and 7.1 G and 15% between 7.1 G and 12 G, where G is the national-insurance basic amount.
For the service and multipurpose-vessel agreement, SF, the protocol provides for the modernised agreement to take effect. Point 3.3 on voluntary extra service is removed. An addition to point 3.2.1 requires a written agreement where the shipowner and local employee representative negotiate arrangements departing from the stated extended-service practice.
The NOR change to § 25 concerns ships outside § 3 of the regulation on seafarer qualifications and certificates. On those ships, an engineer officer may participate to a limited extent in deck duties if this does not compromise engineering duties. An officer covered by the provision moves up one pay class. Limited deck duties expressly exclude bridge-watch duties.
Further work is reserved for the 2027 interim settlement. A joint committee must propose measures addressing imbalances between the pay tables for deck and engineer officers of the same rank and service. A separate demand for 1/30 of monthly pay per day between scheduled and actual relief, with those days recorded as service days, is to be investigated and costed for negotiation in 2027.
The protocol also brings modernised short welfare-leave provisions into effect between the parties in SF § 13 and NOR § 19.
The terms and outstanding follow-up are recorded in the negotiation protocol for the NOR and SF main settlement of 1–2 September 2026.
Check the NOR/SF protocol and Kystrederiene’s response by 16 September 2026 before implementation. Prepare the specified pay, pension and written-agreement changes; delayed-relief daily pay remains for negotiation in 2027.
