SOSU teachers gain a fourth pay step from April 2027

Teachers covered by Denmark’s SOSU organisationsaftale gain a fourth basic-pay step from 1 April 2027. For part-time teachers, the thresholds for teaching allowances under §§ 9 and 10 are scaled to the employment fraction.Retsinformation This applies from 1 August 2026 at schools whose reference period follows the 2026/2027 school yearRetsinformation, and from 1 January 2027 where it follows the calendar year.Retsinformation Payroll and timetable administrators should therefore check the applicable reference period before changing the threshold settings.Retsinformation

The three-week teaching threshold is more than 70.5 hours over three consecutive weeksRetsinformation, triggering an allowance of DKK 73.40 per hourRetsinformation; the same week can trigger that allowance only once.Retsinformation Section 10 currently provides DKK 39.32 per teaching hour above 21 hours a weekRetsinformation and DKK 111.41 per teaching hour above 660 hours a yearRetsinformation, calculated by each commenced half-hour.Retsinformation These allowance amounts are also stated at the 31 March 2012 base level.Retsinformation

From 1 April 2027, the weekly allowance for teaching above 21 hours is removed.Retsinformation The annual allowance above 660 hours remainsRetsinformation, together with the rule scaling the threshold for part-time staff.Retsinformation The separate three-week allowance is retained.Retsinformation Schools need to distinguish the earlier introduction of proportional thresholds from the later removal of the weekly payment.

Employees with a basic social and healthcare qualification will have pay seniority calculated on the same basis as other teachersRetsinformation: the separate provision in § 5, stk. 3, is deleted.Retsinformation Under the referenced common agreement’s § 4, stk. 2, seniority for a post requiring completed education is based on time spent in work requiring that education, starting no earlier than the end of the month of completionRetsinformation; subsequent compulsory military service also counts.Retsinformation

The agreement retains the 18.4% pension contribution for both CO10 and LC bargaining areasRetsinformation, a rate already provided for in the predecessor agreement.Retsinformation The pension change associated with the new step is its inclusion in the pensionable teaching supplement, rather than a new general contribution percentage.Retsinformation
