The 2026 round of periodic anti-money-laundering reporting is under way. The county administrative boards will send letters on 9 November to the roughly 900 operators selected to answer the 2026 periodic reporting. The letter contains a link to an e-service where the data is filedSrfkonsult; the e-service opens on 11 November and the final response day is 11 December
Srfkonsult. Answering is mandatory for every operator covered by the round
Srfkonsult.
The purpose is to give the county boards a better picture of how operators meet the statutory requirements and to make supervision more effective. The data is used to assess the risk of different businesses being exploited for money laundering and terrorist financing. Under chapter 7 of the county boards' regulations, an operator must periodically or on request report on its business, its customers, its risk assessments and routines, and other anti-money-laundering measures, so that the board can assess the risk attached to the supervised operatorsLansstyrelsen; the report is filed digitally or in the manner the board directs.
The duty sits inside a wider compliance package. Professional bookkeeping services are one of the 24 activities in the scope of the Money Laundering Act (1 kap. 2 § PTL), and anyone conducting them must register in Bolagsverket's anti-money-laundering register. The boards wrote in December 2025 to firms whose name, SNI code, business description or annual report suggests covered activity without registration, and follow up with those who do not register; an operator that should be registered but is not can be ordered to cease the business.
Day-to-day duties continue alongside the reporting. Firms work from a risk-based approach with a general risk assessment and customer due diligence, report suspicions to Finanspolisen through the goAML portal even at a low level of suspicion under a disclosure ban, and train staff at least annually. Supervision lies with the county boards of Stockholm, Skåne and Västra Götaland, which can impose fines and penalty charges; the revised regulations introducing periodic reporting entered into force on 1 July 2024. The EU's directly applicable anti-money-laundering regulation follows on 10 July 2027, while the county boards remain the supervisors.
If you receive a 9 November letter, file the 2026 periodic report in the e-service before 11 December; if you conduct bookkeeping services unregistered, register with Bolagsverket now.
