An ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida sanctions notice dated 27 October 2026 now heads the notices list on the ISIL designations pageGOV. Two 27 October 2026 files, of 160 KB and 170 KB, each of 6 pages, stand above the 16 October 2026 notice of 182 KB and 6 pages, with the earlier 2026 notices also in the series. Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office notices issued from 28 January 2026 cover additions, revocations and delistings, and variations and corrections to the UK Sanctions List, with earlier Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation notices linked separately.
Each notice sets out, for its date, additions of new designations, delistings following a United Nations decision, revocations following an official decision-making process, variations to designations, and administrative correctionsGOV. Additions list the new entry; delistings and revocations list the entries being removed; variations and corrections show deleted information in strikethrough and red with newly added information underlined and highlighted in yellow. Individual entries carry the unique identifier, regime name, sanctions imposed, UK statement of reasons, dates of birth, nationalities, identifiers, passports, positions, birth towns and countries, names and aliases, titles and addresses, with designation source, date designated, last updated and OFSI group ID. Entity entries carry identifiers, sanctions, reasons, subsidiaries, parent companies, registration, contact and address details, with the same designation-source and updating fields. The UK Sanctions List format guide explains these fields.
The ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida (United Nations Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, and certain other regulations, are in force to implement certain UN obligationsGOV. The regime provides for the designation of persons designated by the UN as being associated with ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida. The regime is limited in scope to sanctions targeting designated persons only
GOV. The UK Sanctions List tells who is designated under the regime and which sanctions have been applied; a designated person can be an individual, a business or an organisation, and the designations page notes that designated persons include sanctioned individuals and entities.
Designated persons face an asset freeze on funds and other assets, prohibitions on making available funds or economic resources to them or for their benefit, a ban on exporting to them or otherwise supplying military goods or military technology, a ban on providing technical assistance, financial services or funds or associated brokering services where this enables or facilitates armed hostilities, and a ban on transferring military technology to them or for their benefit. Besides the prohibition on supplying certain goods and services to designated persons, no other goods and services sanctions apply under this regimeGOV. The resolutions material on the page notes that asset freeze requirements apply to financial transactions involving funds, economic resources or income-generating activities benefiting listed individuals, groups, undertakings and entities, including trade in petroleum products, natural resources, chemical or agricultural products, weapons or antiquities, kidnapping for ransom, and proceeds of crimes including trafficking in persons, extortion and bank robbery.
