The increase applies to employees of companies performing passenger transport by touring coach or bus where the transport does not require the award of a licence by competition under yrkestransportlova § 8Lovdata. The extended terms rest on two 2026–2028 Bussbransjeavtalen agreements: one between Næringslivets Hovedorganisasjon and NHO Transport on one side and Yrkesorganisasjonenes Sentralforbund and Yrkestrafikkforbundet on the other, and one between Næringslivets Hovedorganisasjon and NHO Transport on one side and Landsorganisasjonen i Norge and Fellesforbundet on the other. The predecessor regulation rested on the corresponding 2024–2026 agreements between the same parties.

Apprentices and persons on labour-market measures fall outside the regulation. It also does not apply where the employee is already covered overall by more favourable wage and working conditions under agreement or under the law otherwise governing the employment relationship.

The employer must cover board and lodging. A fixed diet rate, payment against receipts, agreed coverage by the contracting client or similar arrangements may be agreed instead.

The new regulation no longer contains the predecessor's clause allowing Tariffnemnda to adjust the rate during the regulation's term following tariff revisions. Its geographic scope now also covers Longyearbyen and Ny-Ålesund on SvalbardLovdata. Forskrift 21. oktober 2024 nr. 2534 om delvis allmenngjøring av tariffavtaler for persontransport med turbil is repealedLovdata with effect from the same dateLovdata.
