Lovdata
Lovdata, adopted 22 October 2026
Lovdata, which replaces the 2024 shipyard regulation
Lovdata and extends the binding minimum to Longyearbyen and Ny-Ålesund on Svalbard
Lovdata.
The regulation covers fagarbeidere, spesialarbeidere and hjelpearbeidere doing production, assembly and installation work in skips- og verftsindustrien: a fagarbeider holds a publicly approved fag- or svennebrev or formally equivalent competence in the field; a spesialarbeider is over 18 with enough practice to run equipment and machinery independently or to perform other specialised work forming a necessary part of production; a hjelpearbeider does simpler production work without meeting that test. Lærlinger and persons on arbeidsmarkedstiltak are excluded. The employer, or whoever manages the work in the employer's place, must ensure the provisions are implemented.
Workers sent from their plant or fixed workplace on assignments requiring overnight stays keep an hourly supplement of kr 46,51 for fagarbeidere (was kr 43,36), kr 44,39 for spesialarbeidere (was kr 41,43) and kr 42,30 for hjelpearbeidere (was kr 39,52). Workers employed on reisebetingelser, presupposing work at varying sites, earn the same supplements when the assignment requires overnight stays.
Shift supplements rise in step. For two-shift work: second shift kr 22,75 to kr 24,98; work after kl. 14.00 on days before Sundays and holidays kr 48,61 to kr 53,37; from kl. 14.00 on Christmas, New Year, Easter and Whitsun eves kr 69,69 to kr 76,52; every hour past kl. 24.00 at the third-shift rate, kr 34,93 to kr 38,35. For three-shift work: kr 23,45 to kr 25,75 and kr 34,93 to kr 38,35, with pre-holiday work kr 50,02 to kr 54,92 and eves kr 71,66 to kr 78,68. For continuous three-shift work: kr 24,85 to kr 27,29 and kr 36,86 to kr 40,47, pre-holiday kr 52,81 to kr 57,99 and eves kr 75,72 to kr 83,14. The recalculation table from the 37,5-hour week (2,74, 5,63 and 11,61 per cent, based on the regulation's grunnlønn) is unchanged.
Ordinary working time may not exceed 37,5 hours per week, with shift averages of 36,5, 35,5 and 33,6; other arrangements follow lov 17. juni 2005 nr. 62 om arbeidsmiljø, arbeidstid og stillingsvern kap. 10. Overtime carries 50 per cent of the hourly rate in § 3 first paragraph, and 100 per cent between kl. 21.00 and kl. 06.00 and on Sundays and holidays.
An employer sending workers outside the plant or fixed workplace where overnight stays are needed covers necessary domestic travel expenses at the start and end of the assignment; board and lodging must be agreed before departure, with the employer as the main rule providing kost og losji or covering costs through a fixed diett rate or payment against receipts, including for workers on reisebetingelser. The employer provides necessary vareklær og arbeidstøy, adapted for women and men where a unisex model is unsatisfactory, subject to HMS requirements and practical and economic feasibility. Workers covered overall by more favourable pay and working conditions under agreement or applicable law fall outside the regulation. The incoming FOR-2026-10-22-2229 carries no counterpart to § 4 of FOR-2024-10-21-2535, under which Tariffnemnda could adjust the § 3 rates following tariff revisions. FOR-2024-10-21-2535 is repealed on the new regulation's entry into forceLovdata. Legal basis is lov 4. juni 1993 nr. 58 om allmenngjøring av tariffavtaler m.v. (allmenngjøringsloven) § 5, under which Tariffnemnda adopts such regulations.
Pay shipyard production, assembly and installation workers the new hourly minima and supplements from 6 November 2026, including Svalbard assignments.
